MISSION ALL OVER

So what I'm seeing here is what happens when a self-respecting robot decides to replace his internal circuitry with some sort of electric spaghetti. On this basis, I deem this robot to be Italian. I guess he goes really fast then, but is also very expensive. His sword looks like an over sized hedge-trimmer. You may laugh, but you underestimate how many terrorists are lurking in hedges nowadays. Unfortunately, terrorists are only the second-largest group of hedge occupants, the first being baby birds. Ah well, sacrifices must be made in the name of arboreal safety.

That thing on his head is probably an eye, but does that make the rest of them eyes, too? How does that work? It must be strange to have a field of view which goes from the top of your body to the knees. Also, note the implement on his left arm. This is used for clawing ineffectually at windows in order to get inside, because really, who could resist that face?

found out about that did ye

So I guess this dude(?) is really into the whole omega thing, I wasn't aware there was such a thing as the omega thing but you learn something new every day. He's happy about it, though. Look at that leg cocked up at a jocular angle. He's as happy as a robot with a big sword, which he also has.

I'm not sure what the whole face thing is all about. Maybe it's a kind of wraparound-shades thing. Or maybe it's there to protect his identity. Or maybe it's a censor bar, which wouldn't make much sense. I think he stole it off something else.

He is pretty heavily armoured as armoured things go, which I guess you need to be when you have a sword that takes a good few minutes to swing. I'm picturing him being pretty nimble, though, seeing as the armor kind of peters away towards the bottom. Hence the nifty dancing moves.

He's also got fine respectable shoulder parts, which the ladies go for or so I hear. That's not really a social circle I care to know much about. Or a social omega, maybe.

we've a sharp one here

So this robot, or robuts, is in agreement with the fact that more is better it seems. Heads are useful for various tasks after all. The consensus among the heads seems to be that you can never have enough spikes in any one location. I am assuming that they decided they simply could not choose a single weapon and went with all of them. This may reduce the effusiveness somewhat as it gives the weapon(s) a very large surface area when striking. Still, they will never be at a loss for a can opener or toothpick.

The chest has a bit of a triangle motif, which probably symbolises a number of some sort I cannot recall at this time. The same goes for the shield. The shield-arm has also a chain gun on it because honestly, how could you call yourself a robot if you had no weapon were a weapon could be? This also explains the projectile-launchers of whatever sort attached to the waist.

They may have gone a little overboard on the legs with the spikes, if such a thing is possible, because they give the appearance of wearing pantaloons, which are basically the worst item of clothing a robot can appear to be wearing (best is a trench coat). Note the feet, which look like street-sweeper brushes and may indeed be exactly that, due to some subsidisation to the local sanitary department.

The head on the right (from our point of view) seems to be wearing miniature party hats, but you should be careful what you wish for.

running on empties

This robot has rather short arms, but I think they are suited for his purpose. What that purpose might be I haven't figured out yet, though I drew this some time ago. Perhaps for pinching? Grabbing is another possibility. He's well off, really. He may have gotten the short end of the stick in the arm length department (possibly because he forgot to file some important papers) but he can at least manipulate things. Otherwise, he'd be reduced to poking things with a sword.

Shiny dark balls and tubes compose the majority of this robot's torso. This is perhaps due to shiny black balls needing things moved between them. Like a circulatory system, or a social networking site. Also, they are easy to draw.

His head is slightly demonic. This is further collaborated by the feet. Look closely. Do you see it? Yes, that's right. They closely resemble fasces (a bundle of sticks tied together) (or a 'fag' )),a heraldic icon found on many flags and crests. Namely they were a symbol of fascism, which is plenty demonic for everyone.

toast rack

So here we have a pretty average robot for me. The proportion is kind of wobbly and asymmetrical, but I guess maybe I could sell that to you as a 'style'? No? Ok. He also has a sword, because I imagine that sort of thing is useful in robot battlegrounds of the far future. His other arm ends in some sort of contraption which I would guess shoots projectiles of a variety. This is partly due to the need for ranged combat ability and partly because I do not like to draw hands.

Or feet. Look at his feet there. Are they flat blocks, or are they more like a normal foot? I wouldn't know, I'm no good at foreshortening and perspective. I'm really not sure what his head would look like from the side, either. Hell, maybe you are looking at it from the side. It might be a toaster, that would not be entirely unsurprising.

This drawing shows that techniques such as making a sketch in pencil before going over it in pen, deciding on the pose and position of the parts, and placing the figure properly on the page, are absent entirely from my work.
